EAST LONDON MENTAL HEALTH PROJECT

The East London Mental Health branch has been working with a progressive health project addressing mental health needs in Hackney & East London.  The project sponsors a series of football teams for people with mental health difficulties seeking to assist recovery through sport.

The branch is seeking to sponsor a mini bus in UNISON colours with campaign messages addressing inequality, diversity and public services to raise the profile of the union and place UNISON at the forefront of campaigning around equality issues as well as working with community and socially diverse groups.

The branch is hoping to raise approx £30,000 to cover the vehicle.  Branches are encouraged to consider supporting the appeal and stewards and activists are asked to raise this with their branch.  Any donations should be sent to Chris Remington, Regional Manager for Health at the regional office.

For more information on the project please contact Jackie Loudoun on Jackie.loudoun@unison.co.uk or 0207 535 6610
